Lettuce is an annual plant of the daisy family, Asteraceae. It is most often grown as a leaf vegetable, but sometimes for its stem and seeds. Lettuce is most often used for salads, although it is also seen in other kinds of food, such as soups, sandwiches and wraps; it can also be grilled.

Mentha is a genus of plants in the family Lamiaceae. The exact distinction between species is unclear; it is estimated that 13 to 24 species exist. Hybridization occurs naturally where some species range overlap.

Citrus limetta, alternatively considered to be a cultivar of Citrus limon, C. limon ‘Limetta’, is a species of citrus, commonly known as mousambi, musambi, sweet lime, sweet lemon, and sweet limetta, it is a member of the sweet lemons. It is a cross between the citron and a bitter orange.

The seeds were introduced to New Zealand by Isabel Fraser in 1904. In the 1960s New Zealand began growing kiwifruit commercially. In the 1970s, NZ kiwifruit growers experimented with a natural development of a golden kiwifruit whose seeds were imported from China. The kiwifruit is native to China.
